Jonathan Wateridge, was born in Zambia, but now lives and works in England. His paintings create illusions of real events, which encourage the viewer to think about the way we perceive reality. At the beginning of his career, he characterized his paintings as realist, yet as his career furthered, he began to explore more expressive qualities in painting. Throughout his career, he has exhibited mainly in the UK, Europe and the US, but he's also had the opportunity to have some shows in Australia and Canada.
