FREUD MUSEUM, LONDON

http://www.freud.org.uk/

Biography

The Freud Museum in Hampstead was the home of Sigmund Freud and his family after they escaped from the Nazi annexation of Austria in 1938. It was the wish of Anna, Sigmund’s daughter, who lived in the hose for 44 years that it should be turned into a museum, retaining Freud’s remarkable collection of antiquities, Egyptian, Roman, Greek and Oriental. The house is also filled with Anna’s memoirs and the family were fortunate in being able to bring their collection of furniture and household effects to London, splendid Biedermeier chests, tables, cupboards and a fine collection of Austrian 19th century country furniture.
