Ron Emmons is a British writer/photographer/editor based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. From 1975-1989 he worked as an English teacher in state schools, private institutes and universities in the Sudan, Venezuela, the UK and Thailand. Since 1990 he has worked exclusively as a freelance writer/photographer, updating guidebooks for publishers like National Geographic, Frommer's and Rough Guides, as well as providing illustrated features on travel and culture for a variety of international publications, such as Silver Kris (Singapore inflight), Hemispheres (United inflight) and the South China Morning Post. He also provides content for websites such as cnn.com.
