Biography
Francesco Maria Colombo is an Italian photographer, orchestral conductor, journalist and TV host, living in Milan. He has published three photographic books between 2013 and 2016, Verdi as Architect (Allemandi), Sguardi privati. Sessanta ritratti italiani [Private Glances: Sixty Italian Portraits] (Skira), and Gli ori di Parma. L’Industria. Il cibo. Il lavoro [Parma’s Gold. Industry. Food. Labor] (Skira). As an orchestral conductor he has performed both in operatic and symphonic repertoire, starting from 2001 and working in Italy, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine, South Korea and Japan. He has served as a music critic for the leading Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera, from 1993 to 2001. He is author and host of a TV show, Papillons, on Classica HD, for Sky TV Network.
