Biography

The Art Workers' Guild is a society of artists, craftsmen and designers that places a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and design. The Guild was established by luminaries of the Arts and Crafts movement in the 1880s and their traditions of workmanship are still upheld today. Their collection contains wood carvings, photographs, paintings and sculptures of leading members of the Guild from the 19th century to the present day. Notable works include portraits of Charles Robert Ashbee, William Morris and Sir Edwin Lutyens.
