The McManus is a splendid Gothic Revival building housing Dundee's wide-ranging collections. Across 8 galleries, visitors can embark on a journey through 400 million years witnessing Dundee's growth from a small settlement into the vibrant cultural city it is today. Displays highlight the rich multi-disciplinary collections encompassing art, social and natural history, archaeology and world cultures. Its fine art, applied art and whaling industry collections are Recognised as Nationally Significant to Scotland. In 2020 The McManus was named Scottish visitor attraction of the year and it is proud to have earned its nickname - The People's Museum.
