Bridgeman Artist

Parker, Robyn

Biography

It was a career in social care that inspired digital artist Robyn Parker to return to college to develop her creative skills. Robyn had seen that there was a need amongst the people she was working with for more opportunities to practice their creativity, and to be able to evenutally use that creativity as a source of income. The 28 year old from London completed a Foundation Diploma in Fashion at Newham College in 2013, where she fell in love with surface design. She went on to start her interiors and fashion brand Archie Mac London, which she hopes to one day use as a platform to pass on her skills to local women she volunteers with at the Eaves Centre for Women, Brixton. Robyn has a massive fascination with seeing the world from different perspectives, often becoming distracted by her kaleidoscope which is never far away! She takes a lot of inspiration from the way the natural world is formed and it's this fascination with the patterns in nature that has heavily influenced her approach to design. Robyn often works from photographs of every day objects, repeating and rotating them to create psychedelic, kaleidoscopic designs.
