Biography
The Media Archive for Central England is a vast archive that specifically focuses on film and videos pertaining to the East and West Midlands region of England. MACE holds footage about the Midlands as well as amateur footage shot by the people who lived there. Their collection offers a fascinating look at day-to-day life in the Midlands, from 1930s carnivals to 1960s sports festivities, to 1970s weddings. MACE is based out of the University of Lincoln and is one of nine independent regional film archives in England. They work with the other eight archives in addition to the UK's national film archives, Imperial War Museum, and the National Libraries of Wales and Scotland to contribute their part to the vibrant history of the UK.
