London Community Video Archive (LCVA) based at Goldsmiths, University of London was established in 2017 to preserve, archive, and share films made in London and the South East in the 1970s and 1980s. With the innovations in video technology, the 1970s ushered in an era of accessibility to video recording equipment which provided minorities or under-represented communities the ability to record their own history, a history often left out of mainstream media. LCVA makes sure that history isn’t lost or forgotten.
