The University of Dundee holds an impressive collection of art focusing mainly on Scottish painters of the 19th and 20th centuries. It also includes major English artists, such as Gainsborough and Rosseti. Contemporary art is held in the Scottish Arts Council Bequest and the Alan Woods Bequest, and there is also an expanding collection of work by former students.
