The Gemeentemuseum’s modern art collection provides a fascinating overview of developments in painting and sculpture over the last two centuries. Within the Applied Arts department visitors can feast their eyes on the richly, decorated objects. The Museum also houses an extensive collection of musical instruments, illustrative visual materials and a splendid music library, which together document the history of mainly European music.
