An archive of more than 350,000 photographs, prints, drawings, paintings and other artifacts, the Historic New Orleans Collection chronicles the unique history of the American South. Of particular significance are illustrated accounts of the Battle of New Orleans, the final major battle of the War of 1812, images of the slave trade and plantation life, portraits of Andrew Jackson and examples of French Creole architecture.
